I (Linda) bought my first english springer in 1989. It was a liver/white bitch,
Mistily's Happy Dream.
A
very appropriate name for my first dog. I have always been a huge
lover of
animals. As a child, I spent all my summers and holidays at my grandparents farm. I
felt at home amongst horses,
cows, cats, hens, rabbits and dogs. When I was younger it was horses
that were by greatest passion. I started riding at the age of 4 and
continued until I was well over 20. During the same time I read
everything I could find about dogs. I have a book of dogbreeds which
is really wellridden as a searched for my dreambreed. I became
interested in Welsh and English springer. I chose the English
springer and that's a choice I will never regret. |

André and I
met in 1996. I had two springerbitches at the time and they soon
charmed him totally. He just couldn't resist them, not that I think
that he tried very hard. It didn't took a long time before he was as
interested and comitted to the dogs as I. In 1997 we moved to our
current home. Our home is in the middle of the forest, it's pefect
for both us and our dogs. After we had moved to our house the
fourlegged pack was soon extended and the thoughts of breeding began
to take form. We applied for our kennelname and the affix
CHARLESCROFT was approved in 1999. The affix is by the way, a
translation of the name of the place where we live. The year after,
in 2000, our first litter was born out of
Ch
Mistily's Waltzing Matilda. |

For us, the
dogs is a way of living and we could not imagine living life without
them. Most of our time is devoted to our dogs. As well as we
enjoy the company of them every day and everything around them, they
have also, during the years, given us opportunity to get to know
people with the same love for dogs and dedication for the breed like
ourselves. |
|
|
|
I work nights
with disabled people, which is perfect as I'm mostly at home with
the dogs during the days. André is working as IT-manager for a
company. Other thins we like do do when we have the opportunity is
golf (André)and meet with friends and family. We are also co-owners in a trottinghorse
so we are visiting trottingcourses now and then. When we get the opportunity to a vacation, we like to take trips to the
breeds country of origin, England. There we will go and see more
English springer. This is how we real dogfanatics are. |

Linda is,
since autum 2003, editor for the official breedclub magazine "Springertidningen".
I have always liked writing and doing all sorts of things with
design and layout, so this really suits me well. I have also made
and are webmaster for several homepages (including our own). If I
get the time I love reading or see a movie. |

ABOUT OUR BREEDING |
| |
|
We
have only a very small breeding. At our
kennel a litter is only
planned with the intention
to keep at least one puppy
out of that certain
combination. We will never
have litters only for selling purpose. This means that
we seldom have more than one litter every
other year.
|
| |
|
Every
litter that is born here is
very special for us in many
ways and we always look
forward to a new litter with
great excitement. We want to
keep it this way and
therefore we choose only to breed in a
small scale and first and
foremost for ourselves and
we also hope that we can breed typical springer that will be a joy
for their new owners.
We feel that it's really
important to know as much as
we can about the relatives
in the coming puppies
pedigrees. |
| |
|
To have a purpose and a goal
is a must as a breeder. Our
goals is to improve the
breed and the quality of the
dogs that we breed,
according to the
breedstandard. We have a
clear vision of our
idealspringer and this is
always in our minds when
breeding. The perfect dog
isn't yet born and it will
probably never be, but this
is what breeding is all
about, to get closer to your
own ideal. Temperament and
health are essentials and
together with a good
conformation, we hope to
breed the correct, typical
springer. The most important
thing for us is that the
dogs that we breed will be a
joy for us and their owners
in the everyday life.
We own
and breed dogs simply
because we love them and the
breed! |
| |
|
All our puppies means a lot
to us and therefore we also
demand something from our
puppybuyers. They should be
able to give the dog a good
life and also be willing to
learn and listen and we want the breeder-buyer relationship to
consist of mutual trust . Our task is to give
every puppy and its new
owner the best start
together as possible.
