The whole family had a
nice day at spaniel & retriever show in Gränna. C. Stormy Skies was 2nd in
puppyclass 1 with Prize of honour. Congratulations to Stinas owner Lena and to
handler Lina. Our C. Storm of Sweden was fifth in the same class also with Prize
of honour. Judge for the puppies was Ing-Marie Hagelin. Judge for the adults was
wellknown Frances Jackson of the Mompesson ESS C. Moderation was 2nd in
openclass with CQ, his dad G. Total Recall was 4th in championclass with CQ and
M. Always A Pleasure was 4th in juniorclass with CQ (this was Abbys second show
and her feet where more up in the air than on the ground). Todds progenygroup
was best of breed and BIS-3 in the final. As this was Todds last show we where
pleased with that. The evening was spent with superb food and in the company of
good friends. |

We are going to a show on
Sunday. Can't even remember when we last showed any dogs at a show. I have spent
a lot of time trying to remove all the dead, yellow hairs from the dogs. This is
a problem during summer. As our dogs spend almost all their time outdoors when
the weather is good, it's impossible to avoid them being yellow. Of course,
you can use different protecting sprays and put covers on the dogs, but the
problem is to remember it and do it. On the other hand, sun is essential and
very good for us humans and why should we deny our dogs the sun? I think it's
good also for their health and some of them love to lie, basking, in the sun. I
know that many judges (and others) dislike sunbleeched coats but personally I
don't think this is that important. Of course, it's nicer when they are not
yellowish but at the same time, there is more, important things to take into
considering when judging dogs than some healthy summercoats. Anyway, I will do
my best to remove it from our dogs until Sunday, can't guarantee that I will
succeed completely though. I have to leave some coat on as well. |

Change of plans again. No
more puppies this year. Next litter will be during early 2009. |

No puppies, lots of
puppies! Todd's two litters have arrived and it was mixed feelings for the
breeders. Only one puppy arrived at kennel Springmoon's and unfortunately the
little dogpuppy died just a few days old. At kennel Bonasia, 11 puppies where
born yesterday! So, both good and bad news. But that's nature in a nutshell,
unpredictable and with a mind of it's own! |

Today we congratulate
Mistily's Always A Pleasure, our little Abby, on her first birthday! That she's
behaving more like a 6-month old puppy does'nt concern her a bit. Soon she'll
have her hips and eyes checked and maybe she'll also be entered to a show or two
this year (if mum gets around to do it...) |

It's now a week since the

and we hope to see them soon again! One of the bitches is staying with us. You

The puppies have had their
first session with clipper, scissor and comb on the trimmingtable today. All of
them behaved very well once the understood that the clipper wasn't about to eat
them. It's totally understandable that they are panicking a bit in the beginning
with a big, noisy machine in the ear. Tonight we'll give them a beautybath as
well so that they are nice and smells good when their new owners are coming this
weekend. |
|
|
|
Other nice news when it
comes to puppies are that we now know for sure that there are Todd-babies on the
way both at kennel
Springmoon's and
Bonasia. Both litters are expected in May.
We are looking forward to the results. |

How time flies (even if
our puppybuyers probably thinks the opposite when they are waiting to finally
welcome their new familymembers)! The puppies are now six weeks old and they
have, among other things, been in training to stand nice on the table. You can
see the result on their own
photopage.
LITTER 2008. They have also been outside today and hopefully they
will be able to make excursions outdoors every day now. We will soon also take
them for their first ride in the car. Our daughter Ella still enjoys playing
with them and she's surprisingly hardy, in spite of bare legs in combination
with sharp puppyteeth. |

I have said it before and
I'm saying it again, technicalities are wonderful when it works. Our homepage is
finally up-to-date again after big trouble with our internetserver in the USA.
It's very frustrating when e-mail and homepage doesn't work properly. Many
people wonder if something has happened when we haven't updated in a week or so,
especially now when we have puppies. That's nice as it shows that people do
visit our page frequently. Keep on doing that! |
|
|
|
The puppies are now already
5 weeks old and it's a lot more action now. They have got a bigger pen in their
room so they can
start to explore the world. They have also met the other dogs who are very
interested in the newcomers. Lily doesn't mind at all and welcomes almost
everyone to visit her puppies. The puppies now have got their official names and
we think the theme is very suitable. We have updated their page with some new
photos of them. Next week we'll try to take some standingphotos. The
photoquality is unfortunately not the best. Our camera is currently out of order
so we have had to borrow a camera. |

Hello

|
|
At last some sad news. In
the beginning of March we chose to say goodbye to our "old lady",
Mistily's Magic Waltz.
Tiny was 10 years old. Sleep well, dear Tiny. You are now finally reunited with
your dear mum at the Rainbow Bridge. See you there! |

The puppies are now two weeks
old and still as fat och chunky. Their eyes have started to open and some of
them have already done their first tries up on their small legs. We are planning
to take new photos, with eyes, in the end of the week. Our daughter Ella is
interested in the puppies. In the very beginning she thought they were a bit
scary but now she's happy to sit with them in the puppybox and pat them and give
them kisses on their tiny noses. Our guesses are that in a couple of weeks, it
will not be as peaceful to sit with them with bare legs and feet!!

The day after the birth,
everything is well in the puppybox. The new mother has taken to her new role
with style and the puppies are the evidence. Fat and bonny, they're just eating
and sleeping. With these photos we wish you all a happy Valentines Day tomorrow
and at the same time we say congratulations to our own "Valentine", grandfather,
Todd who celebrates his 7th birthday! |

For those of you who are
waiting for new about coming puppies, we can tell you that we visited Lily and
her family today. It's now three weeks since the mating and still too early to
be certain about anything but we thought we saw some signs that it might well be
puppies in the making, my gut feeling says it's so. Time will tell if the female
intuition once again is correct. Next visit will be in two weeks and then we
hope we can stop guessing. |
